This is what Sato had to say about it ...

    Takuma Sato, BAR (no time):
The track started to dry again early in the qualifying session but when it was time for me to leave the garage the rain started again and was very heavy. With intermediate tyres it was impossible to drive the car in those conditions. I tried my best in very difficult circumstances but there was nothing I could do. All I can do now is try my hardest from the back of the grid for the race on Sunday.”

Interesting Sato and Schumacher from the rear - anyone predict a possible collision???

You can't criticise him too harshly for the crash.

Less than a minute before Sato went into the wall at Turn 8, Michael almost lost the rear on that very corner, but managed to save it. At the time it was bucketing down with heavy rain.

Schumacher said it was very difficult to drive using full wets when he should have been on monsoon tyres. Comparatively Sato was only on intermediates, so he didn't stand much of a chance of staying on the track when trying to set a competative lap time under those circumstances.

Well, as long as he stays out of Michaels way.
