Actually I was impressed ... based on an assumption that the car is still below par.

The real test though, is how well the teams develop the car during the season ... that is usually where Ferrari stretches it's advantage. Thus Red Bull have started with what appears to be a quick car ... but time will tell.

I've decided to show my support by purchasing a can of Red Bull this evening.

    I am currently "sampling" it.

I have come to the conclusion that RBR will have to get by on my non-financial support.

It's not bad as long as it's cold. Probably best described as "an acquired taste". Price per four pack at Walmart took a jump a while ago to somehwere around $7.

Glad DC did well and placed ahead of Webber who said he couldn't wait to get out of that car!

I've been drinking Red Bull for years ever since they supported Sauber and became available at my local Jewel. Nowadays it is a yuppie drink, back then it was an acquired taste I'd say. I remember they only offered one can at a time, so I just grabbed a hole carton full of them and took it to the check out. They looked at me slightly puzzled. It's good stuff if you need a clear head. I love it for racing.

Look DC did a fantastic job, there are no doubts about that. However, the weather in qualifying pretty much determined the entire race.

The Australian GP 2005 was pretty much a lottery. DC just happenned to have a good number that he capitalized upon.

I will accept Red Bull's seriousness as a race team only if they perform consistently. You cannot judge a team by one race.

Red Bull Energy Drink always gets my full support. Red Bull as a company has my sincerest respect for having a sound business model and a strong brand image.

I think Red Bull the drink is vial, the smell is the worst part *BLECH*

As for DC, I think his real value to the team in with his experience and input. He has always been inconsistant as a driver, capable of the best and the worst. This weekend looked to me like one of those special all-the-planets-have-aligned outings for DC. But again, I think he's in the right place and both he and the team will do really well together this year.

I said in my predictions for the year that DC would drive a few inspired races, I just never thought it would be the first one! Think about it though, he seems to be a very smart guy - always thinking. But maybe too much. He was always second fiddle at MM. That had to have affected his game. Now he is THE man at Red Bull. Hats off!!! Time will tell.....

Part of DC's successful weekend was his luck with the rain in the first qualifying session. Normally DC does not do well with single lap qualifying, so I would expect him to start further back in subsequent races.

I have to say I was impressed all around. Over the years I have been firmly anti-DC, but he seemed to drive with a sense of pride I haven't seen in him for years. On top of that, while there is much yet to be seen out of Red Bull, I do give them credit for taking over the botch-up that Ford created and spinning it into a somewhat-competitive car in just a few short months. If they've been able to do that so far, hopefully it bodes well for the remainder of the season.

I am probably the most anti-DC person here, but I have to admit that he did a good job - and even worse he did it on a day when Michael under-performed! I am not looking forward to the call from my DC loving work colleague. :(

Give it another go, this time with vodka. :D

I think RBR and DC did a good job, and he seems a bit more relaxed, but I've been deceived before. He did hold off Webber effectively in the race, and they put in some good laptimes too.
