Import Nite/Cruise nite. Fri. Aug.27th. D.Gr.

Every Friday Night they have a "Cruise Night" in Downers Grove. Along Main St.,just South of the B.N.S.F.-R.R. Tracks. From about 5:00PM to 9:00PM,(but you don't have to arrive by that time...but,needless to say,Earlier is better to insure that you can park. But,with the Huge Parking lot,I don't think that it will be a problem)
And,every week they have a Highlighted Manufacturer,or Group of cars.

On Friday,August 27th. the "Highlighted" Cars are "Imports". Pretty generic. But,I cruise through these Local Cruise Nites nearly every week,and don't see many...if any..."Import Cars" Including "Asian Import Tuner Cars".


And,for the "Highlighted Cars". They Reserve Curtis St.-a Block long section of street,that also has a Big Parking Lot adjacent to it. (Curtis St. is an East Bound street,one way,off of Main St.,one block South of the R.R. tracks.)

If anyone is interested in attending with your Ferrari,(or Import...preferably,Italian ) We should try to coordinate something.

BTW...Downers Grove has some pretty good Restaraunts along the Cruise Nite areas.

 

Dont forget...it should be fun. Every time I cruise through,all I hear is "LOOK!!! A FERRARI!!!" and "WOW!!!!" and "You don't see one of those everyday". I even got a few "Hey Magnum!'

And,usually,it's the Same Old,same old...Same....old..... cars...EVERY Week. Same ones. They need some variety...of the Italian kind...

 

Why,Thank You,Sir!!! I have a few (4) Orange Soccer Cones that my Son uses. I'll bring them along and see if I can use them to Glom a few spots. But,it would be good to know how many plan on coming.

And,hey! What about everyone else out there? Lots of guys we haven't seen much of this Summer....

 

Don't forget everyone...this Friday! The "Cruise Nights" will be ending soon...(can you believe it? Where did Summer go.... )

And,judging from the response that I always get in just ONE Ferrari,think of the response with SEVERAL!!!

 

Do you know exactly what time they start,Don? I have been cruising through,usually around 7:30PM. I think they start at 5:00PM,or at least,is that when you can start Parking in the "Cruise Night Only" sections....

But,I can be there early,too. So that we can "Glom" some spots...(try to,anyway. I don't know what their policy on that is,either...)

I will be Video Taping,also. So I hope we get a good turnout...Plus,haven't seen some of you guys in a while.....

Yeah...I've been watching the Weather casts,and they all predict Rain...Well,I guess we'll just have to "Play it by Ear"...You Never Know around here what the weather will be,until it's actually happening....But, I'm only about 10-15 minutes away from there...

 

Well,now,after it's been nice all day,the Weather is starting to look very dark and scary over by my house...I'm going to give it a go,though..........

I was glad to see Sean with his Beautiful Black/Crema 308....Was hoping to have the "Holy Trinity" of Black Ferrari's there....Seans 308,Tods 328,and Dave's 512BBi. (355 Berlinetta,too.) The people really Loved the 2 Ferrari's. We got a great response....and ,methinks perhaps a couple of,soon to be,fellow Ferrari owners.... I should be a Ferrari Salesman...

And,George,with his absolutely impeccable Alfa Romeo. You guys have GOT to see this car. It just rolled out of the Showroom...and he takes it to the Track! Unbelievable! He MUST join us on drives with that baby. This is not only a super clean Alfa...It's an absolute super clean car,period!

Anyway,it was a nice evening....The Super Yellow Double Nitrous 360 Spider passed through,too. There was a spot right next to me that he could have parked! I wish he would have. I really wanted to scope out that car.

Also,I had the pleasure of having a Beautiful 1972 Pantera park next to me for awhile. AWESOME car! The Gentleman just picked it up last week,and you could not wipe the Smile off of his face with sandpaper...(ouch! ) He had a big grin the whole time. He didn't stay too long,though. He wanted to go DRIVING!...

And,Skip,there was a 1980 Rolls there. I asked him if he knew you and your white Rolls. But,he said he wasn't sure....(How can you forget a guy like Skip....You can't,so,he must not have known you... )

Anyway. Hope that we can get as many of us together for the next few events and drives...time is running out!!!!!

 

Yeah,you know,It was very "Iffy" for me going,too. All day,it was nice. Then,as it got closer to 6:00PM,the Clouds were really dark by my house. It looked like it was going to pour any second. But,I looked to the SouthWest,(in the direction of Downers Grove from my House) and it looked good. So,I thought I'd start going,and if it started to rain,I'd go back. But,it turned out O.K.

I had a Dodge Intrepid or something,honking at me from behind,while I was driving along Main St. Do your folks own a car like that? I was driving along Main St. right around 6:00PM tonite. Was planning on getting there earlier,but,was spooked by the Clouds.
