    Hi I am going to buy a F430 from either italy or Germany does anyone know if there COC Certificate of Comformaty is acceptable in the UK for registration .

    also do either of these counties have any taxes on the sale price of there used cars .

    Hi Dan,
    If you do a quick search of this forum (i.e. the UK Section) for 'import' there a quite a few threads about importing cars. I found this one which mentions the COC Certificate in the first post:

    A CoC is an EU wide document, although its not normally supplied with a new car unless its destined for export when new and requested by the purchaser. You SHOULD be able to obtain a CoC from the manufacturer as they are made within the EU. However, I think, that a car used on an EU members roads is legal in all EU countries anyway. All you need to register a 2nd hand car in the UK obtained from another EU member state is official paperwork from the country confirming the cars age which varies country to country - this is used to obtain an age related numberplate.

    Car tax and VAT are paid when the car is new and will reflect in its purchase price, bringing the car to the UK will not cause any requirement for you to pay taxes unless no tax was paid on the car when new (unlikely - only if the car was used within a business and even then vat is usually paid when purchased).
