Hi all, I have searched all over this site but cant get all the info i was looking for. I have read one site stating that import duties on all Ferraris newer than 1970 incurr a 100% import fee (but im not sure this is correct). I am very new to all this so if I have missed anything please feel free to let me know. Also would there be any useful sites or people to talk too regarding this? Any way, with the market over in the UK dropping off price wise, and the current AUDGBP rising Im sure there have been several people thinking of the same thing What are the actual costs of importing a ferrari from the UK? If you look on autotrader UK you can pick up a 2000 Modena for 38,000 GBP (say $80,000 AUD). With shipping and insurance around 4000 GBP, import duties and GST 25%, and luxury tax $9000 AUD, compliance etc, are there any other major costs that are missing? If you have someone willing to fly over to Britain to buy the car and check it all out, which a mate is very keen to do, couldnt there be some money to be made? I have imported a car from Japan and know how much of a hassle it can be, but are there major hurdles? I know over here they will fetch for around $190K Any thoughts? Much appeciated Ryan

If you buy PP lunch/dinner you can get first hand experience, he did thus. Don' forget to check Japan/HongKong as a source of RHD's Ferrari's J.A. G
must have bought a new 3 usb connection....hence different ISP. the prose is all too similar, morons always speak the same way
Yes, correct, but the majority of Japanese exotic buyers want to be seen to have the prestige of driving an "import" hence the preponderance of LHD Ferrari, Lambo, M-B etc in Japan. Its a culture thing !
What Birel said Heres a few for sale in Japan: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h127329524 http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k109342300 Even the american cars are LHD over there.
With the Rolls Royce / Bentley cars, classic's often they have no choose but to buy RHD.Due to the rarity of some models or the body builder of the car.
FChat guy Xavior with his yellow/black LHD Ferrari 355 thrashing it in Japan. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6468579473748403261&ei=nyskSZ_TGIeIwgPVuPT8BQ&q=xavior+tokyo
The yellow colour with the black speedline wheels looked absolutely sensational. and what about the 'clack clack' of the gearstick in the gate when he changed gears? try and replicate that, you F1 trannie cafe boys.
WITH THE EVENT OF THE 358 ON THE WAY SOON the 360 will come down to 150k and maybe 140k in 2010 ,yes it may have issues like high milege or need a major service .just my opinion. ferraris getting closer to 30yrs of age will stay ,and slowly rise in time have some pics of the california and the 599 at home if anyones interested thanks tom
