I need to find the legislation about importing dairy products and alcohoolic beverages into France.

I tried calling/faxing/emailing the french customs but no answer.

Two different subjects really. Dairy products will have to be cleared by the ministry for agriculture if the come from outside the EU.

You can import any alcoholic beverages/bottle sizes you want as long as you pay the tax on it. Do you really mean import or do you mean duty free/tax free for tourists?

Tax free you can bring the following into the EU...

200 cigarettes; or 100 cigarillos; or 50 cigars; or 250 gms of tobacco

2 litres of still table wine

1 litre of spirits or strong liqueurs over 22% volume; or 2 litres of fortified
wine, sparkling wine or other liqueurs

    60cc/ml of perfume

    250cc/ml of toilet water

    Cheers

I mean import. As in containers . I was under the impression that some countries only import 700ml or 1 L bottles of alcoholic beverage ?
I know the tax is very high and proportional to the % of alcohol right ?

Tax is related to alcohol content. Sorry, I don't know if there is a constraint on bottle size or not.

    Cheers
