    I'm helping a friend import a 991 GT3 RS to California from Finland. Any ideas to what is needed to get a new car over here? I know bumpers, ecu and taxes come up but not sure where to source parts and how much tax is needed.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

    I can only imagine what additional requirements will be put in place by the State of California.

    Often noted here on Fchat are the folks who own Euro-spec cars (eg. F40's) who are patiently waiting for their 25 year exemptions to become a reality.

    I recall a thread here a while back about someone who "imported" their (then new, rare, hot) F12 into San Diego.....the car I believe ended up locked up in a Customs warehouse before being shipped back to Europe, as "legalization" was a no-go.     I am unsure you'd get much support from PCNA, and candidly by the time you were done importing and federalizing it, you'd probably be better off paying $50K over MSRP for a US-spec car, under warranty, that you can drive tomorrow.....vs have the cost, time and candidly risk of getting DoT and EPA, let alone California CARB, DMV, et al.
