I interested in buying a relatively new model Ferrari abroad and importing it to the US. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any advice? Any help I'd greatly appreciated!

You should'nt have a problem if it's 25 years old or older, but since you're looking at relatively new, the chances are slim.

Head to the EPA and DOT websites for more detailed information.

If you are trying to import something newer than 25 years old you need to talk to a Registered Importer / Federalizer like JK Technologies in Baltimore. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's they were bringing in tons of 360s because Ferrari was (as usual) limiting the amount of cars brought to the US.

I had them bring in a special Euro BMW for me at the time. They had to change some of the external lights and some items with the gauge cluster, but that was it.

Most cars these days are built as "world" cars with very few differences from market to market. Contact Jonathan or Lois at JK and tell them what car you want to import and they'll tell you what it will cost...
