    Hey everyone,

Just wondering - what are your impressions of Steve Harris Imports (SLC F-car dealer)?

It is no longer Steve Harris Imports as it was sold to the Ken Garff group a while back. But my understanding is that the staff mostly stayed the same and I've never heard anything too negative about the dealership before or after the sale. A relative of mine bought a Ferrari there and had a positive experience.

Bought my 328 from them in Dec 2002. The BEST dealer experience I ever had. Sean Harris (owner then) took care of me.

It is now F of SLC but Sean may still be managing the dealership (at least that's what he told me in July of 2013).

Friend of mine bought a 1991 Lotus M100 Elan from them sight unseen other than web site photos. Car was delivered to his house here in Colorado, exactly as described. Great car at a great price.

I have never had a bad experience with the dealership. It has been the same people since I have been a kid. If you need a reference for anyone in sales let me know.

I've only had the best experience over there. Maybe it's I have a 355 and they know I'm going to be in sooner or later and the bill will be sizable but I think not. Both salesman have been fantastic even though I'm just a stroker and won't be in the market for some time. They always take time to talk Ferrari with me and I appreciate that. Service has been excellent. Alex is the best to work with and 2nd to none. They are not the cheapest but have made an effort to work with me on several occasions. One thing to note is that I have never had to bring it back after an apt. I appreciate that as its so frustrating to have your car down much less have to bring it back again if not fixed properly the first time. Keep it up gentlemen.

Yeah I used to be a big Steve Harris proponent, but after my Belt Service last year (~February), I dunno. I've had to bring my car back at least 3 or 4 times for problems as a result of that.

    1. Last summer I noticed some nuts were crooked on one of my rear shock towers. I brought it back, showed it to Craig, and he said they'd fix that - they didn't put everything back after the belt svc. Ok... Well, I didn't check their work when I got it back, trusting they'd do it right.

Lo and behold I was tracing some wires in my engine compartment a couple months ago and happened to catch a look at my rear shock towers - now the nuts were GONE! I took it back again and showed them again. As part of their investigation, they wrote up something on the paperwork like "at least one nut was missing from each shock tower and engine mount point" and now it drives so much better than it did before! I said "something like" because the notes were written in pen on a work order; they said they'd send me a copy of the paperwork but whaddya know? I still haven't gotten it.

    2. Also, soon after starting to drive it last Spring (again, after the belt service), I got back from a drive and smelled a strong, distinct smell of gas. I couldn't locate the leak. This went on for about a week or so until I finally found the problem. A fuel line on the driver's side from the fuel tank to the injection plenum was leaking gas directly on the engine! Evidently the fuel line cracked when they were putting the engine back together because it was leaking right at the point where the braided line went over the nipple. I can only imagine what would have happened if I hadn't found that leak! I ended up fixing the leak myself and took it back down again. I showed it to the guys and they waved me off, saying "oh, great repair job" etc. I was like, "well, I shouldn't have had to repair it!"

    3. They also wrote in pen on that work order that the rear wheels were loose. The only time I've ever had them off was for... that belt service! Given the concerns that these single-lug Testarossas have in regards to wheels falling off due to improper mounting of the wheels, I would have figured they'd pay extra attention to make sure the wheels were properly torqued! The front wheels were fine (as expected).

Nobody's perfect, but really, the items listed above aren't minor things - my safety was in peril!
