Besides removing me as mod, what improvements would you like to see on FChat. - :D

Over the past few months there have been a number of focal points for Rob and the moderators, including:

    - more vigilance on removing off-topic remarks and off-topic threads
    - more vigilance on derogatory / harassing / belittling comments and the individuals that post them (trolls)

In addition, there have been board improvements such as:

    - increase in size of pictures allowed to 800 x 800 / 250K
    - improvement to FerrariAds.com structure / layout
    - introduction of the Velostrada magazine
    - cleaning up and build-up of the FAQ (although much more to do here)

Personally, I've found the quality of the discussions better, and the much less bickering then before. Even when there are disagreements, I've found them to be much more respectfully argued.

What else would you like to see...at any level?

I promise to take all *thoughtful* suggestions to Rob.

Please don't turn this into another joke thread. I'd like serious responses.

    Thanks.

Unless I am missing something obvious (been known to happen), there is no way to search using AND, NOT, wildcards or phrases. With so many posts using many of the same words, it would be helpful to be able to have more control over the query.

Agree with the above. We always tell people to search first, but it is kind of hard to find threads or posts even if you know they're there.

I will look into this. For example, I believe you can exclude unwanted words by typing a "-" into the search string. So yes "360" but no "spider" could be searched as "360 -spider."

If you want "360" and "Spider" (but not necessarily together) I believe you just have to type both into the search "360 Spider"

If you want "360" and "Spider" concatenated, you can type "360 Spider" (with quotes).

Will double check all of this.

What about when you first signed up - was filling out your profile easy? I always find newbies don't have their profiles filled out, not because they don't want to but because many of them didn't realize they could, until somebody pointed it out to them.

It's ludacris to think that we don;t have php Phot Post integrated with Ferrari Chat. Every other forum on the planet runs that or vBadvansed or something.

    http://www.photopost.com

    http://www.vbadvanced.com/

Also, a better way to have "content" than Velostrada... that antiquated model of putting a magzine on the web is rather tedious. Oh, and the forum skin is weak.

Also, custom user titles. Larger avatars...

Just go look around at other car web forums. Do some of that here. There's this other site I know, whose name cannot be spoken, that has a killer, killer, killer, killer software platform and integration and customization.

    1) I'm still a bit of a newbie so maybe I just haven't figured it out yet but I have trouble sending PMs to those on my buddy list. It would be nice to just click on their name to send a PM. Now I go to a thread that I know they've posted in and hit their name.

    2) I still can't figure out how to get a good avitar. I've tried all sorts of things to reduce a pic and it still looks like crap. How about a few instructions (unless I just missed them?)

    3) What about a register for each model? It would be optional to join the register (possibly extra charge?) but required to own the car to join. Great place to concentrate on tech issues, stories, etc. for specific models. It would also be nice to know where the other 700 Modi 8s are in the world (already know where Sam's is and one other.)

Users could upload pictures of either their own car or their favorite photo of a Ferrari onto the site. People could browse through the picture on the gallerey portion of F-chat. You could seperate categories of pics like this you seperate the forums maybe. And their could also be a category for other exotics, and maybe some hot girls(but I think we have the bikini thread for that). their should also be a section where of owners cars that users could look at and get the idea of what everyone drives here. Or the mods could seperate into the following. When browsing throught the pictures users could leave comemnts on them too. In addition to this F-chat could have a random picture thing. Let me explain, everytime you load a page on f-chat their would be a randomly pciked photo from the galelry that would be minimized on the side or in the corner( I dont exactly know where you could fit this though). Users could then click on the picture to acces the full version of it, and also have the option of leaving a comment on them. That probably sounded a bit confusing but I did my best. Its basically the same as this site photo gallery: www.fastdrive.org

some how control the reposts that newbies do. Something like not allowing anyone with under 100 posts start a thread...

I think it would be cool to have a section that discussed regional or national events. I know there are already regions but maybe a sub-forum in each region to discuss that years events and maybe organize some fchat gatherings at certain events with enough interest?

I'd like to see a calendar for each regional section of FChat so Silver & Rossa members could add events that others might be interested in. If I was headed to Cali in a couple months, I could see what was going on or post for a hook-up.

    Something like Emil had started.

Larger avatars, more space for photos, and some designation for those who actually own a Ferrari.

This is a Ferrari board so ownership isn't a crime right? I'd like to see a way to validate whether or not a post has been written by someone who could provide some type of ownership information. Seeing this status at a glance when reading a post would be helpful for some topics.

With regard to the format of the screen, the format of a post is wasteful; too much unused space. Look at the bar between the avatar and your profile info - its all wasted on each and every post. Turn this into larger avatars.

I appreciate changing the size of photos - I must have been away during the time that change had been implemented. Related to the other requests for more photos, limiting non-subscribed members to a set amount of photos is counterproductive. Open this up so more content can be added to the site.

We have a little calender for the NYTS region which is a sticky but it would be great to get a national calender going.
