Is there anyway to improve reception for my tv(s). I've recently moved into a newly constructed townhome. There are still structures being built on site behind mine.

Time Warner claims there are no lines yet running in the area. And the satellite guy won't install the satellite on the back fence b/c he's worried about major interference once the townhomes behind us are complete. He also doesn't want to install it on the roof for various reasons, my roommate doesn't want it up there either.

Is there anything that anyone can recommend to improve the reception of the freebie tv. I had planned to buy an lcd to open up space in my small room. A guy at work said his dad has some built-in antenna that receives all the bunny ear stations very clearly (his dad doesn't have cable or satellite). I think his dad has an outside antenna though.

    Thanks.

    Thanks the help.

My dad was in Radio Shack and asked them and they recommended similar to what you did. They also said that since I live close to the medical center some things the hospital has in place could be enhancing the degradation of the signal. Not sure if that's fact or not.

Not sure what I'll do. I'll probably just live with it until cable or satellite becomes available.

The money I'd spend on getting better reception could be used to get a little bit better lcd.

    Thanks again. :)

Setting up a sat dish is not rocket science.

As far as I know, you can still walk in to Best Buy, buy one and install it yourself.

All you need to is a compass, a cordless drill, some RG-6 cable and a some basic manuall skills (other misc tools would help).

Unless you live in a forest (a really dense one) or a cave, it's not that hard to find a signal and the dish can be easily moved if need be.
