a friend sent me a pdf copy of a magazine with an article he had written regarding the racing history of the pontiac fiero. In the article, there's a mention that 3 of the "fiero" tube-frames were run with ferrari bodywork (I assume they also used ferrari drivetrains). Just wondering if anyone knows more about those 3 cars? Were Berlinetta Motorcars involved? were they successful?

I'm not exactly sure on the timeline (IMSA -late 80's or early 90's) but there were some Alba and Spice bodied racers powered by Ferrari motors but never heard of Fiero's with Ferrari drivetrain or bodywork.

Huffaker Engineering built the tube frames for the IMSA Fieros and a few 308s as well. Maybe that's what they're referring to?

yup, the huffaker engineering tubeframes designed for the Fiero racing program were the ones referred to (18 "fiero" frames built of which 15 ran as pontiacs and 3 as Ferraris. Paul got this bit of info from Joe Huffaker)

The Spice chassis with Pontiac power was called
a Fiero which was a branding exercise, hugely successful
cars that ran in IMSA Camel Lights and Group C2
with numerous class victories and championships
    and very good looking cars.

There were actual Pontiac Fieros that ran in IMSA
GTU against similarly powered Mazdas and
    Porsches.

Spice chassis then ran in Camel Lights with Ferrari,
Chevrolet and most successfully with Honda (branded
Acura) that ran like trains and dominated the
championship with Parker Johnstone as their main
    driver.

Spice then also got into the GTP category with big bore
V8 Chevys and Pontiacs not long before the category
was phased out and the WSC formula was ushered in.

Sorry, but i thought of a real Ferrari 308 GT 4. I know that there were some 308 GTB but i never saw a picture from any "old" GT4 cars. The only wellknown is the le mans car.
