Anybody have any suggestions as to a good, broadcast quality system that won't break the bank? I am thinking about doing something for Playboy TV and the budget is fairly limited.

Not exactly sure what would constitute broadcast quality. But I know Sanyo makes some decent bottom of the HD market cam units that are compact. Mate a few of those with sticky pods and you could make a good in car setup. I am considering that unit for an in car camera myself.

I sell the ChaseCam and they are very popular. They use Compact Flash as their media and are priced fair. $495 for the DVR, $275 for 580 NTSC cam. www.chasecam.com.

For broadcast quality i have to second the Chasecam. Sure there are various tape and disc-based system, yet a real track car is a HARSH environment. In the end my previous Samsung Sportcam memory card recorder could not handle the new track car (plus had lackluster video and audio was not to my liking).

Chasecam all the way for sure!

For comparison, here is a link to Sony HDR-HC3, which has a multitude of lenses and zoom playback, etc. If you want to spend a little more money.

I have it mounted with an 'I/O Port' video camera mount. Rarely get a skip on rough tracks. Its also very useable in everyday life. Highly recommend.
