    Hi,
the Larini exhaust fitted on my car has ruined my ears (118dB mesured).
    I can't stand it anymore.
I need something with less noise, but I still want a performance stainless exhaust system.
    What would you recommand?

    Thanks.

Is this the new version Larini muffler released just a few years ago or the old version?

1997. I need a 5.2 compatible exhaust if it is what you want to know.

Pretty much any SS exhaust with level 1 sound not level 3 and with valves to open wide. SuperSprint, Capristo, Tubi, Kreissieg, Nouvalari, Larini, take your pick. If anyone says they can feel a significant difference with loud vs quieter version exhaust from the same company they are lying. You can always do the stock one too, good luck with your choice!

    Not sure.
Here is a description of Capristo:

Available in 3 volume levels; Level 1 gives a moderate increase in sound level over the stock system so the car sounds essentially standard at low rpm, yet wild above 4000rpm when the valve opens. Level 2 gives the system a much fuller and louder sound at low revs and level 3 makes the car very loud at low revs. All 3 systems sound the same at high revs given as the upper channel is fully un-silenced and direct exit.

If fully unsilenced above 4000rpm, there is no reason a Capristo exhaust would be quieter than my Larini, right?

Don't understand Eric. The 355 has a bypass valve to open the secondary exhaust path. . If you have a Capristo muffler and no bypass it straight pipes all the time.

Ahh I'm thinking 348, we can have a bypass or not.

I suspect the issue with noise is not even so much wot, it's more below 4000 rpm on highway or around town, some of those exhaust level 3are loud as hell at low speeds where wer are 90% of the time on streets. Loud and drone, great if your 16 with a case of look-at-me-itis.[emoji3]

My nouvalari isn’t that loud at low revs.

    Actually not for several reasons::
    a) it takes mass off the rear of the car so the tires have less to hold and have relatively more grip,
    b) if you lower the rear the amount the springs raised the rear due to less weight in the exhaust,
... the roll axis inclination remains the same and chassis/suspension geometry is not altered.

Thus, done properly, there should be a slight increase in understeer,

And constantly annoying when you are 40+ with tinnitus.

I have a Tubi Evolution (and cats deleted) and don't find it insanely loud cruising around town. With windows up it's quite civilized. Windows down at WOT it's loud and sounds great, but doesn't make your ears bleed. Cats quiet it down 5-10% (less than you'd think).
