In search of 458 AC Control Unit knob, help!

If you manage to get a print of the exact dimension I guess the cheapest would be to just print the part (the small black circular plastic part) out of a 3d printer instead of ordering the "whole" knob part from Ferrari which I guess will be expensive

 

There are many 458's on scrap yards imo Mr ? Parts Department ... ....

What does the factory charge you for one knob ?

how about the knob that you found a replacement for? that one only seemed to be missing a face, and the rest of it was fine.

Ferrari doesnt sell the button i assume, just the unit..how much is the unit?

 

No wrecker is going to start pulling pieces from the assembly, so new or used, the unit will be sold as an assembly. Remember, Ferrari buys these parts from sub contractors as full assemblies and that's why they don't sell individual pieces - you realize how difficult that would be to manage?

Ross - don't hold your breathe but try contacting FNA and see if they can get a part from the sub contractor. Again, it's a long shot.

 

I should add the Speciale is a different assembly than the 458

 

I’m missing that cap that goes on the knob, just like what was pictured. If anyone has a lead on one of those caps I’d be most appreciative.

I hope you aren’t forced to buy a replacement of the entire complete HVAC module.

When a few of the lights of my 360 HVAC went dark, I was told that I had to buy a replacement module. Fortunately I decided to repair it myself and was able to open the unit remove the circuit board and replace the soldered mini light bulbs.

But I’m pretty sure you should be able to buy a new knob.

Or maybe using some glue carefully re-use the old cap

 

No, you can't - they are not sold individually.

 

Is the old broken cap around or is it lost?

How much is the new module? I’m guessing $900

 

Over $2000 IIRC

 

Was a new knob ever located?

I now have a similar situation in which the fan speed knob needs a new black plastic cover.

The plastic tabs that integrate into the cover snapped off and I need a new cover.

We all know it’s a small and inexpensive item but locating one is difficult.

Have any new solutions been found yet?
