So I did the mod last night...and partially failed two days ago. The key is spring steel for the pin that goes behind the plastic contact. A correctly sized safety pin supplied the spring steel wire I needed to do the mid correctly. This pic below shows the wire behind the plastic contact. These wires go in central to the contacts and before the springs. Works 100% perfectly as a momentary on up and down while staying off in the center position.

If the wrong switch is what someone wants, then might as well go to Radio Shack or Pep Boys.

The right switch for many (but not all) cars is a Lucas switch. It can be found but is in $100 range. My point of posting here is that the expensive Lucas switch is identical to a very inexpensive and readily available Lucas switch, after easily adding a piece of spring steel wire inside the switch...exactly as Lucas did on the expensive switch.

    Not Radio Shack.
Google Lucas 3 position switch. It needs to be a Lucas and not a Lucas wanna be. It should be in a green Lucas box. Confirm with seller.

    No sullying noted...

The Arc-Components Lucas switch (on-off-on) would indeed likely be the right one to modify into a correct aerial switch per richard’s instructions.

The Superformance aerial switches are replacements but not Lucas. The “Large Interior Switch” they have won’t do, as it’s just an off-on switch.
