Hey guys, I'm in the market for a used Ducati Monster 620. Any common issues I should worry about? Someome told me they have battery issues. Not too concerned about maintenance costs, as I do most myself. The nearest dealer is about 20 miles away. I'm comming from A Yamaha R6. I except the Duc to be slower, but I'm looking for a more engaging experience. Pros and cons? Thanks.

Dont know if you'd be happy with a 620 coming off the R6. They are a little underpowered. Consider an S4R :D

620 is kinda small and low on power. Might consider upsizing a bit if the budget will allow.

If I remember, some of the earlier monsters had a battery issue - should have been replaced under warranty. Might ask the owner about the battery on the bike if buying used.

If used - make sure the recommended services have been done at the proper intervals. Think about when the next one will be due and ask around about what it will cost.

I have a monster S4 and love it!

If you really want info on monsters, go here. One of the best motorcycle sites on the web, IMO.

+11ty billion on www.ducatimonster.org ! ANYthing you ever wanted to know about ANY Monster can be found here.

Also, I agree that you'll probably be real disappointed with a 620. I'd go for at least an 800. I personally love my S2R 800, (it was my first street bike ever), but am starting to JONES hard for a S4Rs, or a 1098, or maybe a 996, OH I could do a S4R AND a 748....! ;) Getting off of a "ricer" 4 and onto a "pasta" Twin is an eyeopening experience. The torque! mmmmmmm.....
