I'm getting ready to buy my first Ferrari, and am wondering where else I should be looking. I've narrowed it down to the 308 GTB (euro) or the 328. There are several cars I am interested in, but most of them are not local. Besides the ads here, ebay, and Hemmings, what else is there? Are there any local (<2hr drive) used car dealers that usually have inventory?

I'm looking for a lower mileage car (30,000 plus or minus) that I can drive, but that is still in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Also, my wife prefers red and since it will be half hers I have to take that into consideration.

Anyway, if there are other places I should be checking please pass them along. Thanks.

www.Vast.com is a search engine that can give you a first pass lay of the land. I'm guessing it shows around 70% of the 328 market.

Sport Auto has a couple of 328 for sale:

Yahoo Cars is a good search engine. Check it out at:

It's pretty rare to find the right 308 or 328 in your home town but since you are looking in Philadelphia your odds are increased slightly. That said, don't be afraid to check out an out of town car if it looks appealing.

Either way you're will have to get it checked out by a qualified Ferrari tech, either from Ferrari or independent.

    Happy hunting.

Westtown Imports in West Chester gets 308's to sell every once in a while. I also believe Holt Motorsport had a 308 for sale not too long ago, they're just up the road from Westtown Imports.

I forgot, another place is Galbraith auto near Devon Pa, and sometimes Algar gets a 308, but they're usually pristine examples

Try calling Eddie Karam. He lives there and has been involved in buying and selling Ferrari's for many years.

I'd stick with dry states like Arizone, Nevada, California and maybe Texas. Things are pretty depressed/distressed in some of these states so prices are probably OK. Every NE 308 I've seen has a fair bit of corrosion under the pretty paint. Just my $.02.
