Staying at MGM Grand, I'll be playing it by ear as far as free time goes, but is there anything going on I really need to know about? Any secret knocks or insider info? I've done most of the touristy stuff, I like to play some craps. Not into the oomp-ch-oomp-ch-oomp-ch club scene.

FarmerDave...Should be quiet after the big fight manana. If you haven't checked the "Latest Las Vegas" thread, I highly recommend it. Wife and I have been to Lost Wages probably dozens of times since we got hitched there, and I still find things in that thread that I have not yet done. I highly recommend the Pinball Hall of Fame, and the Neon Sign Museum, if you have not done those. The Absinthe show (Caesars) is also highly recommended by several....T

I'm in Vegas now. It's starting to get crazy busy. I'm not interested in boxing, and even if I was, there are no tickets available, so I'm going to see Journey at the Hard Rock on Saturday. I just got 7th row center seats this week. I may be the only one in the audience. They will still be in town this coming week. Also, if you haven't seem Michael Jackson, One, that is a great show.
If you like Motown go see Human Nature at the Venetian. And if you don't like Motown, go see them anyway, another great show.

Have a great trip. Unfortunately I am working in LA this week. I was in London last week and I can tell you, Vegas is a bit warmer!

Can't wait mr mayor, just brought the 458 home after a little drive to keep the battery up while we are away, and it's raining! Did I hear the peppermill is the place for breakfast these days?

Peppermill is a great place for breakfast on the Strip. Depending on how much free time you have, the Latest Las Vegas thread is a great one for ideas on things to do in Vegas. Safe travels, everyone….T

These days? So 'these days' are those days since the Vietnam War? :)

Yes, Peppermill is good for 24 hours grub. Especially nice back in the bar where you get the lounge scene with a 70s disco era fire pit. I actually think the better deal at Peppermill (and it's little outpost in Henderson, called the Rainbow Room) are the dinner specials. Some people like Hash House A-Go Go breakfast, which can be found at a couple of hotels and offers ridiculously huge servings of everything.

If you want a nicer breakfast, the patio café at the Wynn is a spot I like. It feels like a resort restaurant, overlooks the pool, and has good food (though moderately expensive).

Many thanks. With this heat and amount of people I now know how a brake pad must feel !!

Fortunately the AC at Bellagio is just right, but I've only seen 1 Fcar so far and it's the static 430 Challenge at Crystals. Plenty of Skylines pooping along the stip though

You can rent a Fezza to drive on track at this location!

    http://www.exoticsracing.com/driving-experience/drive-ferrari

There's another similar place. Reviews can be found here on F-chat.

Since you're at Bellagio, try Le Cirque if you want to splurge on a great meal.

    Stay cool and hydrate!

Many thanks for the link and tips.
Time ran out but I managed to borrow our friend's Aston Vantage with stick which was pretty good fun and sounded sweet.
Temperature was ridiculous on Tues so had to rent a Kabanna which worked well. Tao very kindly kept the kitchen open for us arriving at midnight and would definately dine there again.
Will have to try Le Cirque next time although we did squeeze a trip to Light last night which was fun but closed earlier than we thought at 3.
A fun and hot visit, will try the rental F's next time :)

Hi Beau...Sounds like you had a great time. That's the great thing about Vegas, a good trip there leaves you wanting to get back. And, then next time you go, there'll be more fun stuff to do...T

Many thanks. St Tropez was straight after so still a bit hazy. Fancy staying at either Hard Rock or Ceasers next time, although couldn't fault Bellagio. Very nice service.

I hope your hazy feeling from the south of France does not arise from the same source as Jenson Button and his lovely wife! ;)

I'd choose Caesar's over Hard Rock, but to be honest that's mainly because the wife and I have always had great service there. No knock against HR. Caesar's vs. Bellagio would be a hard call. Unless you mean Bellagio on Lake Como, then I'd choose that!!
    Safe travels.
