We desperately need a thread where it is perfectly acceptable to offer reminders which don't help matters at all. The sentiments shared need not be true. The responses, however, should be iconic and ironic, though if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bull**** throws from left field.

    That said...

    My cow, Belle, died.

A threadbare thread. I like the idea. Much better than hazing some newby who doesn’t know whittling from Whitworth and giving him iconoclastic advice that will result in an aluminum yard sale. More honest. Kinder.
    It’ll never catch on here.

Isn't this case for all threads? Oh, wait, here it is "acceptable."
Well, in that case, I strongly suspect that the government put you up to this, and BTW, what WERE you doing on 11/22/63?

I'd also like to add that if your parents didn't have children, it is likely you won't either.

63 has long since past even in 73, but in 83, there were makings of brilliance. This is an era which was important to mainstream media. It was during the Rambo era, where you need to fight back, and the underdog always triumphed, especially over the uber-leet Cobra Kai.

The US mainstream always loves to watch the underdog triumph over evil. No one ever thought the underdogged evil could triumph over the good, until we didn't suspect it at all. For those references, you must know Kaiser Sose.

    Here's something for you:

"Now, sir, a war is never even--sir, a war is won"

What's so special about the sentence above?
