Hello: I am researching service options for my 1984 Mondial. Norwoods, of course, is the obvious answer, and I plan on having the belts replaced there, but they can't fit the car in until March. I have a few issues I would like to get taken care of sooner (specifically having all of the fuel lines/hoses replaced). From searching Fchat and Google, I've come up with the following list: * Norwoods * Lambo Store * Sam and Joe's Foreign Car Repair (in Arlington) * Aldo's European (in Rowlett) * Dallas Auto Sports (in Garland - they don't list Ferrari on their web site, but do show a picture of a Dino) * Euroasian Automotive (in Addison) Right now I'm tempted to change out the fuel lines myself and wait until March to have Norwoods replace the timing belts. (I am going to call Lambo Store, however, as they seem pretty highly recommended.) Are there other shops missing from the above list? Any recommendations? Thanks. --Jeremy
Jeremy, We do stay pretty booked as far as our schedule goes, normally having jobs booked out for weeks or months in advance for normal/routine services. If you have something more pressing I am always happy to fit you in and take care of your car in a time frame that works best for you. As most guys in the area know I am available seven days a week to take care of our customers. I sent you a PM but give me a call and we can get you taken care of if that helps. Thanks, James Patterson
You could give Shadetree Enginetrics a call: 972-843-8134. They are near Wylie. They do all the maintenance on my 1986 Maserati Biturbo Spyder, and Robert has worked on several Ferraris.
Dallas Autosport worked on my 330 2+2 in '03-'04, before I started taking it to Norwood. They had several other Ferrari and Lambo regulars. If Tim Taylor is still owner, you should be fine.
After taking my 355 to Norwood the first time, I knew it was the only place to go. Great service, great communication, and great results.
Thanks for all of the recommendations, everyone! I'm trying to get to know the car a little before I take it into service. I've replace the fuel accumulator, and am getting ready to do the fuel lines. (I'm sourcing the lines now.) I'm also cleaning every electrical contact I can get to. So far my efforts have been very rewarding -- just this weekend my horn worked, twice! Seriously, I've had the car almost exactly two-weeks now and am still taking stock. I'm going to have professionals take care of the major service (belts and valve adjustment), but I'm hoping to get most other things cleaned up first. --Jeremy
