Does anyone know of a good independent mechanic/shop in the Charlotte nc area. I am actually just across the boarder in sc ,but would gladly travel to somewhere good !
I have a 575 that will need a 15,000 mile service quite soon.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know Steve Barney is in Summerville NC close to Greensboro, but that is a hike from SC.

He owns Sport Auto still, I believe. He started Foreign Cars Italia, the Ferrari Dealership, but sold it.

He is a stand up guy who knows his crap and nice all around dude. I cannot imagine his not having a top notch Ferrari guy on staff to work on a 575. He is old school.

I bought a few Porsches from him back in the day.

I have not spoken to him in a few years, and have no affiliation, but he was always fair to me and a nice guy to talk to about the old days.

I went all the way from California to buy the 550 from Steve Barney.

Tom Jones is his mechanic and a better guy would be hard to find.

Funny story from the old days. When Steve owned FCI he used to sell Ferraris to Michael Jordan.

I was down there to pick up a 911 I had purchased when the Ferrari carrier pulled up.

They rolled off a brand spanking new 550.

They asked me if I wanted to sit in Michael's car before he did.

What a beautiful day that was. Holy hell what a ride he had. Optioned to the max.

I remember Tom from back when. He is a solid and top guy. Very dedicated to getting things right, You really cannot do wrong by him.

I use Compitizione, but that is even further north, but worth the trip. They will pick up and deliver.

Those guys are the bomb, and true purest.

Thanks very much for the recommendations, I will check them both out . I have just enjoyed my first few outings in the car and really like it. Still getting used to the F1 shifter but it is quite user friendly .

Please let us know what you uncover. I live next to Carowinds so am probably your neighbor. I purchased a 456 last year and it still needs some sorting out.
