What a game tonight!!! 11 innings and a 7 run victory... that doesn't happen very often!
I knew the second Eric Gagne was traded to the Sox that he was going to cause them problems. Of all games I've seen with him in them, he has blown every save, or at least given up a shutout. Of course there were other pitchers who really let the devastation hit, but Gagne puts way too many men on base. A closer should shut the opposing team down in no more than 10-12 pitches.
This isn't the regular season anymore. Enough with giving this guy chances. I don't care how much he cost them - just let him sit for the rest of the series. If they make it to the World Series they better keep him off the roster.
Red Sox are down 3 games to 1. It's do or die for them tonight... I'm not gonna count them out because they came back from a 3-0 deficit against the NY Yankees back in '04. And they then went on to win the World Series. Tonight is gonna be a great game!!
Yup... and it's in Boston. After the way the Red Sox handled Cleveland last night, it doesn't look good for Cleveland tonight.
The ball is in Boston's court. Provided that Matsuzaka can come through in the clutch, then I don't see why the Red Sox will run over the Indians. I think they have figured out the Indians' pitching and are working it. Look how patient they were with Fausto Carmona last night. Forced him to go with fastballs because all his junk pitches were falling out of the strike zone. JD Drew ripped the GS on a fastball left dead center over the plate. And look at that! Eric Gagne came in and didn't give anything up!
congrats, red sox. it seems the curse has officially been lifted...although i have to say i'm rooting for the rockies...
