I can't believe I am actually watching this event - why?? because it is raining buckets again - I really have outside work I'd rather be doing. I'm pulling for Penske (preference for Helio) and/or Ganassi (Weldon) on this one. Since I'm not for Penske in ALMS I guess I'll be for his team here (weird logic). Actually a good finish would be Marco just inches in front of Michael. Maybe the sun will come out soon. There's Mari - "start your engines" .. . . . I think the sun's thinking of shining ! ! Carol not a good start having to replace the ecu of Helio - oop's rear winglet put back on with "200 mph tape" - oop's another no start
They are on #22 now . . . heck you can take a nap and recover from getting up early on Sunday to watch the F1 race. They just showed the right tire changer from Foyt team being hauled off on a stretcher as he slightly got hit foot clipped by the car. Carol
Watching live timing on indycar.com. Not as good as F1 live timing IMHO. Raining at our lake house in Illinois today. Rather be on the boat.
Everyone should be thankful that she's out. That was one of the nastiest driver errors that I've seen in a while at the 500.
No comment about a similar move by the guy who hit the wall after running too fast into the turn and not judging his speed?? Team Penske should have kept their transmission private as his plane has identified rain 40 minutes out. Carol
great yet another one into the wall in same area where Milka swapped ends - same thing happed to him - Danica dived bombed the Camping World car into the wall - Hope Meira gets the jump at restart and moves into top three. COME ON PENSKE .....
GP2 race is best of all races this weekend. This is a gimme for third place. Hopefully it won't end and they'll be back with real racing. Carol Get them a set of wets and let's see some real racing instead of a processional of drafting cars.
Rain sets in there, just as rain sets in here in Houston... Shut down the race and Lady Valeria's pool party....
Ah rain, the bard of motor racing. Well, some motor racing Too bad for young Marco again, what luck that kid has is bad at the Speedway, but he'lll keep getting chances and hopefully pull it off one day.
What a great race so far! Plenty of battling early on between Castroneves and Kanaan for 1st position. Too bad Castroneves had some poor luck with the false start and then refueling problems in the pit which sent him to the back of the pack. Milka put her car into the wall--no surprise there. She doesn't belong in open-wheel racing of this caliber. Raining now but let's hope they can get it restarted. Go Andretti Green!
My comment was not made because she is female. It was a good example of TTO. I did not see the other crashes so I can't comment. I would like to see Danika do well. As well as Marco. Ciao
I bet they restart. Must end by 7-7:30. 1-2 to dry. 1-2 race time. Rain ending soon with none to follow.
Just drive in the rain........ Give them umbrellas and wipers. Start this up already, all talking - no action..
Firestone Tire Talk person has head firmly planted in sand. According to tire talk, IRL can't run rain tires and run in the rain at Indy because of the cement walls and someone might get hurt. Wonder where this guy is when the F1 circus moves into Indy. Looks like going back to racing - yipee..... Carol
Firestone never heard of "rain tires"? And the drivers can't see when it's wet. They can't see in F1 but they are not sissies either. They are drying the track now. Yawn. Wait, it may be a NASCAR truck series race!
Oh yes, I forgot that he said that too about drivers not being able to see when you have 30+ cars on a track going about 200 mph. (A friend from London went to Hungary F1 GP last year and said it was absolutely awesome seeing the cars at full speed in the rain and the enormous rooster-tails......) Cars on track at 5:45 Carol Marcus Allen was just interviewed and when asked about getting into one of the cars, he said he tried but could only get his leg in!
