Hello all. Im heading to my first Indy 500 this May. We are pretty hooked up for tickets, access ect. Can anyone tell me if there are big parties to get to Sunday after the race? What can 4 guys do to get in trouble out there after the race is over? Thanks

Don't fight the trafiic going to the track on race day. Go to the Indy airport, follow the signs for the shuttle, pay the money and sit in an air conditioned bus using a special route to and from the track. After 30 years of not doing this, I started this a few years ago during the USGP.

Personally, I dislike sitting in my car in traffic, so this proved to be a terrific alternative.

If you are fortunate to be staying downtown, there is a shuttle from the RCA Dome (?), or what ever they call the arena for the Indy NBA team. Downtown is the place to be. Right Michael??

go to St.Elmo's downtown for diiner & drinks! Don't even bother fighting traffic to leave...the Indy cops are good about traffic flow; the problem is there's so damn much of it!

Rio's a gentleman's club somewhere. A cab accidentally took us there. But it's where the NBA and NFL guys hang I am told. It was hoppin. Like the guys above say, Downtown is it. Conrad Hotel bar, St. Elmo's is a must stop, bar at the Omni. Oceanaire is good seafood. A lot of local bars just east of the Omni. This is all in a 2 block circle.
