I watched the "race" and came away with a few thoughts: I think Bernie's stranglehold on the sport is now in question. Racers are fiercely independent, and to have all the Michelin teams stick together is a threat to his control of the series. If there is a break away series, and F1 is left with Ferrari, Minardi and Jordan, they are doomed. Racing needs a sole tire supplier for the F1 series. The focus here is autos, not tires. World Superbike went to a sole tire supplier, and is a better series for it. I really don't care what brand tire that they race on. If several tire mfgs want to be in it, they should rotate the brand every few years. If nothing else, this debacle should open a dialog between Bernie and the teams as to what is best for the sport. There needs to be closer racing and more passing in the sport. I hope this will open some eyes.
