Turbines, '67 abd '68. Oh. F1 board, I forgot. Uh-huh... Alright, the Lotus 63/turbine '71. Oh. F1 at Indy. Oooooppppssss.
Ya think? (btw, the '68 Indy Lotus turbine was the 56. The '71 F1 turbine was the 56B, not the 63. Got it? How I screwed that up is beyond me. Gittin' old(er) stinks...)
A lot of memories, but meeting Michael was the best, well not exactly. As many of you probably remember, besides the nicer restaurants and hotels in towns, the best place to bump into drivers was at the Circle Center mall. The guys loved it as they could walk around in virtual anonymity. Well I bumped into Michael coming out of a store alone, I want to say it was Buckle or Aeropostale or some other trendy mens store at that time which caught me off guard. I figured he would be at Nordstrom (which I think now is closed). Anyway, I tried to be polite and asked for a photo, but he shot me down and walked away. I could understand him not wanting to make a scene and start others asking him, but my touch with greatness didn't go exactly as I planned.
My last, I promise. Having mentioned them, I must. (remember, my being annoying is genetic.... ) For one's edification: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_63 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_56 https://www.f1technical.net/f1db/cars/271/lotus-56b
