    I am sooooooo happy to have turbo's back in CART oh sorry IndyCar but I cannot find any pics or video's of the engines say on an engine-dyno. Anyway I thought it would be nice to have a thread strictly dedicated to just the new turbo format especially since different manufacturers are running both single and twin setups.

    Much appreciated though! Certainly after the season starts there will be less "cloak and dagger" regarding engine info, pics etc etc. I just love turbocharging.

    Only pictures I've seen they've all been covered by black tarps. I don't think you're going to see much.

    I must say that the return to turbos and the inclusion of Chevy and Lotus as manufacturers has me much more excited than in the past.

    Factor in Rubens, possibility of Alesi at the Indy 500, the return of Bourdais and the (hopeful) ride for Paul Tracy, and you have an outstanding line-up of drivers.

    Even some of the front wing aero (the curved Reynard looking one) looks decent. If they could fix the proboscis nose and ditch the weird looking rear-aero, as well as the air box, they'd be on to something.

    Long time CART fan, and I'm a staunch Tony George critic...but even I have to admit that this season could be interesting to watch.

    Agreed on all points but I like the rear aero of the current car and I'm curious too see the 2013 aero package. Wouldn't it be cool if Rubens could pull off a Mansell in his first year!

    I was at ECR about a week ago. I actually had my eyes on the Chevy, but only from a distance. Pics and videos are completely forbidden under the contract with Chevy.

    Chevy & Lotus are running twin turbos.
    Honda is running a single turbo.

    I thought you were interested in hearing the new engines, so figured that would be somewhat close for you to go listen and watch some testing.

    You can hop a plane to Sebring this week or to Barber next if can only visit road or street courses.

    How are they regulating boost? I see some engines have twin-turbos and lower displacement - is it in the spec?

    As controversial as it was, I prefer the pop-off valve...

    Boost is regulated by the ECU and will be course specific.

    Yup. Standard ECU that can't be messed with by the teams. They're talking about adding P2P for 2013 and that it will add 100hp.
