It looks like the Penske guys are in good form as McLaughlin is fastest in the second practice from Newgarden and Power. Qualifying next up on Peacock in a couple of hours. Race under a lightning delay. I gather the "shelter in place" has been lifted, but they have to get everyone back into the stands. Coverage now on CNBC during the delay. I'd forgotten how spectacular southern t-storms could get. I just hope they get started before all those storms get here (90 miles east) and screw up my satellite reception.
Has anybody else noticed the new-found concern about lightning? It seems like it’s just happened over the last five or so years.

Racing fuel has always been volatile. I wonder how many race cars have been struck by lightning while in motion… Thanks for keeping us safe, Risk Management!
Nashville has a history of ground strikes by lighting. I think they were worried about the temporary grandstands. Sounds like they're shifting coverage back to NBC.
