I guess the cameras will be on Herta all day, even when he’s in 20th.

So O'Ward pulls it off for Arrows McLaren.

It appears that the Chevy powered cars have the advantage going into the crucial month of May . . . barely.

I followed it live...timing...so frustrating but here in France even with a VPN no streaming can be seen and Peacock is not available(and I have had no TV since 2016 and am very happy with that decision).
I get to watch the race recap today though.

Anyway it seems sooo competitive, awesome. Helio and Simon seem to be struggling....

Too bad. That means you missed Grosjean banging into Rahal in the closing laps. Rahal totally pissed off . . .

Colton needs to go see a sports psychologist or something. way too many stupid unforced errors

Herta vs O'Ward could be a great rivalry if Herta stopped sabotaging himself.

good race though, Barber is a great track. wish more series raced there

Oh I read all the news snippets avidly, already saw the video of that incident. Rahal junior is a bit of a drama Queen, much ado about nothing, he resents the driving level rising around him when his ability is maxed out. In contrast I had a long chat with his father in 1999 during the Tour auto one evening in the Schlumpf museum, a great surrounding and he was as pleasant as can be.

I will watch the half hour race recap on Yout tube tonight:)

Colton: he seems still very raw around the edges (and needs a haircut) maybe he needs to ask Romain for the mental coach who greatly helped him years ago; turned him around enormously.

That track is great very challenging, surprised they built it in the middle of good old boy country.

Emphasis on the name: Barber Motorsports PARK. Probably the best maintained grass, shrubs and trees at any track in North America. And the crazy sculptures help, too!

Hmmmm . . . . I can understand the first bump by Grosjean on Rahal as being a racing incident. But, the second one seemed quite unnecessary and very deliberate. I think in this case Graham has a legitimate complaint.

Ok, but did the camera miss something else? There was so much going on it is possible. Not condoning any excessive move by Romain but it's a war out there.

Grosjean had complained that Rahal (on dead tires) cut him off in the middle of apexing a turn
which is what the cameras didn't see.

Grosjean took exception to this and thus what played out was shown from numerous angles on
the broadcast. Grosjean may have had a point but you'd hope that he'd have the maturity at this
point to keep his head down and finish the race rather than the wheel-banging which could have
    taken both of them out.

What the broadcast also showed was Grosjean passing Rahal easily under braking to take seventh
    place on the last lap.

The Indy Car young guns, O’Ward, Palou and VeeKay dominated the weekend's events at Barber.
Good for them, always great to see new blood doing well.

FWIW, Rahal ran out of gas on the last lap, which is why Grosjean got by so easily after that battle

Ahah yes I thought that was a tit for tat but we were only shown the tat.

Most articles missed the fact that Rahal ran out of fuel.
That race was so intense that the half hour Youtube highlights seemed to miss a lot.

Rahal has a new nickname in the French speaking world; le Rahaleur; the verb râler means complain, moan, mutter, ***** so now he is le Rahaleur:D

one of my annoyances with Indycar's YT highlights is they rarely get too deep into the strategy aspect of a race, which is particularly problematic at Barber and Mid Ohio (and some street courses) which are almost always 2/3 stop strategy and/or track position strategy races.

Barber narrowly missed being a wet/dry race too, it stormed heavily race day morning but dried quickly thereafter.

You are right unfortunately that is all I get with my choice of -1: not having a TV and -2: not being able to access Peacock here in France or a live stream like in the past, even with my nerd's hep and a VPN...

I can't wait to attend Elkhart or Mid Ohio or barber. I find Laguna Seca too small even though it is good for spectating.

Its nice to see actual close racing, pit stops that matter, strategy and passing happening all during and late in a race versus one lap of passes then 53 parade laps with 7 minutes between first and last place in F1. Although there are some thrilling races for 14th and 11th place 4 minutes behind the leaders

Crazy wet-dry-wet race on the Speedway road course today. Herta was the first to pit for slicks and he managed to bring it home first despite many moments of mayhem around him. Pagenaud scores an impressive second.
