After watching yesterday's race in Nashville I'm so glad I schlepped all the way out to Road America in June to enjoy a race on a proper racing circuit.
Ten years ago I was in LA during the Long Beach GP yet didn't bother going, whereas watching the race at Elkhart in person has been on my wish list for thirty years but scheduling conflicts have prevented it so far. I like Barber a lot too, a great old fashioned course so that is another I would like to attend.

My bucket list was to go to Elkhart and camp in the infield for about five days around an event. Not sure if I ever will.
I went twice, once in 1997 for the Brian Redman vintage racing weekend and again in 2002 for IMSA when I was press relations for a French team, XL Racing with a 550 Maranello in GT2 (not GT1) I had suggested Elkhart when they asked me what track to choose for their one off US race. Got them some TV time too via Bill Adam who was a commentator for the tv channel showing the race. I actually camped at Elkhart in 1997 and swam in a nice pond on the other side of the road from the track, I just checked, it is called Birch point. Of course the Elkhart lake village itself with Siebkins on the main lake shore is very pleasant and the people very friendly. In 2002 I landed at Milwaukee airport with no way or rejoining the team at the track but saw German team owner Franz Konrad in the arrivals terminal so summoned up my best German plea and he took me along, a very interesting chap.
probably and worth it. Palou getting fired by his management team is pretty interesting, can't remember the last time that happened.
IndyCar being preempted at the moment by ladies’ golf. What next, girls’ soccer? Shuffled over to Peacock. The Captain needs to make a better deal with the suits at NBC.
