Wow . . . that was a massive shunt for Newgarden.

It depends on how the fuel strategies shake out to know if this grid is indicative of anything.

drying track, Power and Joey New both caused a red flag, each session was largely determined by who got the last clean laps, I don’t think the grid is too representative of pace.

Newgarden is going to a backup car for tomorrow

Pretty good race I thought. It wasn't a boring fuel saving race like we see a lot. Penske and chevy have found something for sure....

Edit: The NBC broadcast was horrific. Commericals every 4 laps, literally. Almost missed the newgarden pass on Mcclaughlin and they did miss his attempt on power after the last stop because they were on commercial.

yeah it was a good race once it settled down. tire strategy not fuel strategy fortunately :)

agree on ads. too many and missed too much on track. that said I don't think Fox or CW will be an upgrade.

Just saw the half hour recap and wow what a race, it doesn't get better than Elkhart Indycars, as pure as it gets, definitely one I want to see in person!

hybrid test at Milwaukee today. not sure it makes sense to test a new power train at a track you haven’t been at in a decade but whatever

looking forward to the race later this year, great to see it back on the schedule

now if we could get Phoenix back…and Loudon…

    Indycar to Fox next year

all races on network TV (amazing this still matters after 50+ years of cable TV and nearly 20 years of streaming)

no idea on booth. hope they at least keep Hinch. also hope they significantly improve their TV direction and camera work compared to NASCAR

streaming will be on the Fox/ESPN/Warner service . no clue on TV package for outside USA

I think this is a good deal for indycar. Practice and quali sessions on FS1 and FS2, as well as Indycar NXT being on TV I think will help that series tremendously with sponsorship, etc. The only thing I don't like is the season has to be over in the states by labor day as NFL starts the week after and they're obviously a big parter for fox.

Also, The schedule they released has some flaws but 17 races is a good schedule.

overall hopefully a net positive to IndyCar

Thermal is apparently now a points race which is lame, and Gateway conflicts with Le Mans (as does F1 in Canada) and of course no Texas. but 4 short ovals and Road America :)

Can't wait for Milwaukee. I'm thinking of going. Two points races in one weekend.

It's a short oval that drives like a road course. In the old CART days they always ran the road course wings.

I went in 1993 and it was fun watching the totally drunk Brits go apesh!t for Ol' Nige.
