IndyCar finally gets underway tonight at the frightful Texas oval. Pre-race 7:30EDT on NBCSN. The race is on NBC at 8:00pm EDT

It's not so bad when they don't have the nose in the "paddock position". Or are talking about the new aero screen?

Yes they are very ugly, but their excuse better be function over form and testing proved that was the safest for protection and quick egress.

This is my favorite Indy race to watch. The small oval really gives viewers a video-game like exaggeration of speed to make up for not seeing it in person except in this case there is no exaggeration in speed...really is probably excessive. Hopefully no one gets injured which is always my concern watching this event. The Indy 500 doesn't look as quick as this on TV for me.

Several inexperienced guys having had very very little testing and that was months ago, one oval rookie who admits he does not feel prepared, Newgarden saying it will be a dodgy one, a one day event with minimal practice...let's just hope for everybody in one piece at the end, that place bites. It will start at 2am my time but I will be up: first race of any kind for months: Yes!

Calling these cars ugly is being kind.

... but it’s Texas... quite a few will be put out of their misery tonight.

Edit: thank you Takuma Sato... may the car RiP

You could just watch the video of Sato's crash over and over... that'll prob be pretty close!
