Just took delivery the HS 2 days ago. The wait has definitely been more gruesome than my other cars! I drove for 30 mins and parked the car in front of a restaurant. Then I realized the emergency lights were blinking. I went back and saw the message of "inertia switch triggered". I had to press that button to reset it underneath the driver seat after googling it myself. I then went on to drive for another 3 hours without issues before returning it to the dealer for wrap.

My question: Is it something I should worry at all? Thanks!

p.s. The car has been great and the handling is a tad sharper than my porsche gt cars while it is a lighter. The chassis was able to filter some unwanted info that I got from the other cars while it was able to accentuate some info as well. I like it a lot.

The first miles in a new car will bring out many potential build issues with it. So expect to insist the dealer check and sort out any surprises. The inertia switch should NEVER self-trigger. Imagine what would happen if it happened while you were driving... or if you did not have access to the Internet. It could be as simple as a flaky switch or bad wiring connection.

FWIW, I discovered an annoying problem with the HELE option intermittently cutting out ever since I took delivery... it was a pain but they finally sorted it - a bad electrical connection inside the steering wheel. Car's solid now.

OTOH, glad you enjoyed your new CaliT HS. ;)

Make sure the car is plugged into a battery tender. I found that my car had a few lights go on for no reason. After I plugged in it took 2 days to get battery tender to green. I have not had any lights come on since battery has been plugged in. I put 7500 miles on my California T this summer.

2 days?!? Holy smokes. Mine typically goes green in a couple of hours.

OP... Definitely report it, so there is a record, even if it never reappears. +1 on a battery tender, even overnight, just to keep it fully juiced up. Good luck and hopefully it'll be smooth sailing from here on out...T

Edit - to get around the possibility of no bandwidth, you can get a copy of the owner's manual at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale.

    https://www.ferrarifl.com/owner-manuals.htm

I have an iPhone and so keep a local copy on iBooks. It's keyword searchable. On several occasions it's kept this newb owner from freaking out when the F-chat brain trust couldn't be reached! [emoji3]

You're welcome. I have not, mine is a 2011, and would probably freak the heck on out if that message popped up. Isn't this switch only supposed to be activated in the case of a crash or rollover?

Kevin, I just put my California T Owner's Manual (.pdf) in a public folder in my Dropbox for anyone who wants it. You can access it at:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ot3szcgyxhy6jnp/AAA6G0WbCoIyqP7topaDdU2ia?dl=0

The manual is about 28 MB and the 'zip' version is just over 23 MB.

I logged in to myFerrari portal and downloaded a manual. I then copied to my cell phone so I always have it.
