My wife has a G37 S. Just rolled 22K, not one issue. For the money, great car, nice power, excellent service dept.

The new M if you ask me is far from boring, since they redid it I think it looks great and has a beautiful interior. This will most likely be the wife's next car.

I wouldn't call the car boring. My father has had his G35x since new (Feb 08) and 35k miles. Not one problem. Great car and you get a lot for the money. Infiniti is a wise choice imo.

My partner has one--she loves it. When my wife was looking for a new ride (actually, she looked two times, but can't bear to get rid of her 530i) one time she like the M37 best, the next time the Jag XF. Given they just redid the M's, it would be my first choice to drive to replace her 530.

The lexus and MB are a little warmer, and the BMW is a little edgier, along with the Audi is a little better in the interior department. The M37 has a fantastic engine with plentiful parts and a solid torqueband. Might be a bit too much car for the engine, but hey that's just me, but in all fairness nothing that the rivals offer even come close to its driving dynamics. E350-slower, worse handling. 528-slower, worse handling. GS350-slower, worse handling. A6 3.0-slower, worse handling. Ride wise the lexus is a bit softer, the MB is on par, the BMW and Audi is a tiny bit more firm. Maintenance wise, the M is only rivaled by lexus. And the VQ engine is in everything from the M class to the altima, to the quest, to the 370z. Very flexible engine. Best car in class, hands down. If you want a green option they are coming out with a hybrid version. I would personally go with the m56. It is sweet. The others are great with their complimentary service, but wait till you need to start replacing parts, not to mention with the exception of the lexus they are all much more expensive.
