Anyone (Lambo savvy) know this car first hand or live close enough to preview it (expenses paid)? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-Lamborghini-Murcielago-BLU-HERA-6K-MILES-NICE-CAR_W0QQitemZ230250014087QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230250014087 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ah, do you know the seller has pulled it from ebay. They're (Naples Motorsport) a little funny about PPI's.
Yes, I spoke with the seller when the auction had about one hour to go. Ebay is basically an easy way to advertise. I have some info on the vehicle, but would think others would certainly know something about this car, if for no other reason than it being the Hera Blue. This is about as beautiful a car as I could imagine. There seems to be some "Diablo" experts that know just about every car out there. So, I was hoping for a "Murcie" guru as well.
Hey, it's normal to kick tires on Murcielagos for, oh, 3+ years! There are only ever 20-30 for sale at any given time, it's hard to match the exterior color and wheel options just right... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134874215&postcount=22
Hey guys...glad I am providing laughs and humor for ya'll. Nothing like having a little entertainment while searching for a Lambo. But, after 43 years of being a meteorologist and almost always being "wrong", I have a very thick skin. So, if I can be your laugh for the day, that is fine with me. Since I need NEITHER your advice or permission to buy/not buy a car, so be it. But, in all sincerity, I WANT your opinions and for nothing more than most of you have asked on here when considering a vehicle. Hey...just think, I could really provide a laugh or help make your day by showing up at a Lambo event with my purchase...or maybe NOT. I have learned what I now know about Lambos from you on here and I am thankful for that. But, seeking information about a specific car is part of what I thought this forum was about. I'm not asking you to take a day off and fly to Naples. You either know some history of this car or you don't. Have all the fun you want and if I must learn about a car 100% on my own, I can do that. If I get a lemon, I can deal with that. In the end, I still thank all of you for the facts and details about Lambos you have provided over the years. BTW ryalex...I have never kicked a tire on any car...LOL
Make sure you take her to Lambo dealer for a full pre point inspection (PPI). Make sure they run a paint meter on the car, all recall work has been done , check for prior damage, full leak down, brakes and clutch wear. These 02-03 cars sometimes needed the water pump replaced, need new clutches if the previous owner did not know how to drive it and once a year need the throttle bodies cleaned, along with all regular service. Also make sure the car has a clean history, all books, tools and keys and service history. Good Luck and maybe if everything comes out OK it will be a SUNNY day??? Mike
Mike, The car is extremely beautiful, absolutely correct there. I dont normally take to Murcies unless it is a roadster but this car is definitely different, it shows class and subtlety. By the way, what are your thoughts on shiny silver roadster wheels? If there is any help I can provide about this Murcielago it is that it appeals to me when most do not.
Mike...as someone already pointed out here, Naples Motorsports is NOT famous for letting the car go for a PPI. I already talked with them about it...they will only take it for you...and suggested F1 Imports down the road. It has NOT had a clutch, for sure needs tires, and the pass front lift is leaking (which they are going to fix). They claim it does have a Tubi exhaust. Also, they do not have full records on the car and said it has had three owners. I agree with the more extensive PPI to include the leak down and compression testing. When getting new tires, I would also add some roadster wheels (polished or chrome) to it. I believe the shiney wheels on this color really works. Didn't know about the paint meter thing...thanks for the tip. Well, that color sure is a knockout on a SUNNY day...for sure. Matty...thanks for the comments. I like so many of the Lambo colors including yellow, green, orange, and silvers. But, I wonder how the beauty of the Hera Blue could NOT catch eyes wherever it goes!!! My answer to shiney wheels on this color is YES.
Mike Coffin is actually getting serious about a car? How long has it been? 2...3 years of looking at every car on the market? I know I've spent almost as much time with you on the phone as I spent with Mike Mansfield....I'm seeing a trend here, something about people named "Mike"...LOL Good luck to you, I don't know anything about the car other than seen it for sale a couple of times...best of luck on the venture! Kevin Cats Exotics
LOL...hey Kevin! Wonders never cease, huh? My special thanks go out to you and Roy. You guys have been a wealth of information. This car may not be the one either, but when I look back at all that I have passed up, I am trying to learn from that. I have dropped a few of them because someone chimed in about the history that ended interest right then and there. I can have any car I want and don't expect a perfect car. Soooooo...maybe I am getting close with this one. Might get a chance to visit Naples next week...will already be in JAX FL.
I know that a lot of teenagers live in a fantasy world online, but someone that's almost 70 years old???? BTW, for the ones that would like to know. Mike is driving a 2003 PT cruiser.
Are you not turning 70 in less than 2 1/2 years? Have you not been the registered owner of a 2003 PT cruiser?
My birth date is a part of my public profile. No pt cruiser here. And your point is??? Do we have to qualify now to look at exotics? Next thing you will be telling me is I can't buy a Lambo if I am wearing jeans and tee shirt. I remember how Corvette owners bashed Mustangs and how Viper owners bashed Corvettes. Do I detect a stink of arrogance among Lambo owners? I sure hope not...
Mike, you have been posting at a lot of different car forums for more than 3 years now, always READY TO BUY a car, or two or three. You first wanted a ferrari 360, then Diablo, Gallardo, Murcielago, Ford GT, Mercedes SLR and SL 65 AMG, and of course the Aston Martin Vanquish and the Porsche CGT. You where building a huge house in NC, but now you want to buy a house in the $1-2 million range in Atlanta. Meanwhile you live in a small place that doesn't even have a garage. You traded your private jet, a Hawker 800 in for a Gulfstream, but you still fly commercial with Delta when you travel. In reality, you have been driving a 2003 PT cruiser, base model with factory tint all this time. Personally, I think you are great entertainment, but I feel bad for all the members here that spend time answering your questions as if you where a real buyer, but most of all, I feel bad for the exotic car dealers around the country that have wasted hours on the phone and in person with you while believing you where a legitimate buyer.
Peter2, Just curious, how do you know all of this? Seems kinda weird you even know what plane this guy flys on. I don't think it's right to keep dealers hanging on for years about you buying a car, but it is a major purchase and not one you should make knee jerk reactions on. Either way for everyones sake I hope Mike really buys a car.
Michael, I was totally swamped yesterday. I will be available today, pretty much all day, to talk. Call me later this morning. Heard you ordered a car for me.
I can call them on it for you Gus...it's a nice color, especially in person....might even look good with one of the body kits on it...(subtle hint) LOL. I'll give them a call and get some backgorund on the car...will let you know more on it today. Kevin
Thanks, Kevin. Maybe I can get that one souped up with twin turbos. Do you know of a place where they modify Murcis like the Hennessey Viper? Maybe I will do that to the yellow 2003 Murci Coupe I have and just do the body kit on this one and get the new roadster rims installed. I would have four Murcis then. I really like the color.
