Does anyone know the best/least permanent/easiest removable method for mounting a fire extinguisher in a 2002 F360? I'm going to Indy F1 and it is a requirement to participate in the track event (pass tech. inspection). I'm not interested in something permanent, as I'm only installing this to meet the requirement for this event.
Also, any ideas on where the best place to purchase an extinguisher - or does anyone have one that I can borrow for this event?
    Thanks, Luis

You might re-think your interest in a permanent installation -you want to make sure there is no chance of it getting loose in the cabin (unless you are already prepared for major dental restoration ;)) There are very specific regulations on where it gets mounted - it has to be easily accessible to the driver in the event of need. Most installations are bolted into the floor in front of the passenger seat (parallel to the seat front).

Also, you need to verify size requirement for the extinguisher - certain race regulations require a 5lb unit...much bigger than what most people install in their daily/weekend driver. One of this sponsors on this board sells extinguishers. www.h3r.com

My old M-6 had one in front of the drivers seat on the floor, a great idea and totally out of the way. I'd get a nice racer standard halon unit, not the Home-Depot generic ones.
