In the process of removing the head on my '72 Daytona, I found the following scratched on the inside of an end cover plate:

"VALVE JOB FERRARI OF SF 5/5/77" and the letters "SHILL" or "CHILL"

I called the current F of SF, only to find out that the earlier F of SF was under different management, and had gone out of business well before the current F of SF started about 12 years ago.

    So:

Does anyone have any information on the earlier company, its ownership, or perhaps employees? I'd sure like to find any information on the service on my car, or perhaps a clue to previous ownership.

    Meanwhile engine removal continues...Tom

Are you talking about the one on Van Ness St? It opened back in the early 90s. Heard it had some money issues and was closed. I read an article on it in the SF Chronicle around that time. I think Cavallino had a short blurb on it back in 1990-1991. There was an F40 intro party there as well. Anybody else have further info?
