I have tried for three years to track down accurate numbers for Mondial Valeo numbers broken down into RHD, LHD, coupes and cabriolets. All I seem to come up with is a rough overall number of around forty. Seems because Valeo was an option rather than a production figure it is a tough number to get that granularity. I asked Michael Sheehan who didn't really seem to care much at all about Mondials least of all their optional transaxles. I asked Randy Leffingwell who co-wrote the Fourth Edition Illustrated Ferrari Buyers Guide with Dean Batchelor. Randy was a gracious guy. He offered to track the info down but warned that Ferrari was very secretive outfit with info like that and thought it would take a long while. He also offered to sign all his books I had and FedEx me at his cost. Cool fellow. I tried asking Marcel Massini on FChat but I don't think he gets interested in matters beneath V12s.

So if anyone else is interested in trivia like this can you help shake the bushes and check contacts? List might include connected dealers who have high security access to Italy. The question is how many RHD Valeo cabriolets, RHD Valeo coupes, LHD Valeo cabriolets, LHD Valeo cabriolets?

Michael Sheehan has a h--d-on for the Valeo equipped Mondial. I haven't a clue why since all the write ups I have read are highly favorable. I happen to love mine as well :)

I counted 20 various Valeo cars in the Matthias Urban Serial Numbers Manual. I may have missed a couple but for sure, there were more than 20 - - maybe 40 or so (or were there?) and one F40.

    Happy Mother's Day,

I meant to say LHD Valeo Coupes at the end of my last post.

    Hey Robbio99,

We knew what you meant:) Actually, I do find it a bit interesting that the original or remaining number of Valeo equipped Mondials is as elusive as the understanding of the Valeo system itself.

And yet, thru all the mystery, so many people who have had little or no experience with a Valeo car, amazingly, have so much BS to say!!!! Dammit mon!!!! I'm getting my pressure up:)

    Anyway all, Happy Mother's Day,

    Hank
