Jeremy Lawrence and I decided that since my car is now in Houston we needed to have a little drive around. So, he's organized an informal drive for Wednesday night. So far we have 2-308's and a 355.

We will be having an informal drive Wednesday night for those who would like to get out. We will meet at the Sonic on 290 just North of Cypress Rosehill.

    Address:

    26044 NORTHWEST FREEWAY HIGHWAY 290
    CYPRESS, TX 77429-1050

We will leave Sonic at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there.

Is this for Ferrari owners only or can some other cars come too?

It doesn't matter to me what you drive. But if you don't have a Ferrari then you'll have to wear your tux! ;)

Enjoyed the drive in the back roads today. You guys would make the old man Ferrari proud by exercising his stallions to the limit....

And by the way I just wanted to point out my Ferrari (lil black Enzo riding piggyback on the roof of my S4) - a la' Space Shuttle transporter style..

I have the 2001 edition - with a 2.7 twin turbo. I really like it a lot. The new one has better suspension tuning out of the box and has normally aspirated V8

Like any car it has its pluses and minuses
    Pluses:
    - Can be easily modded - you can chip it to 320hp/360lb-ft (up from 250hp/260lb-ft) for about $700 or take it upto 400 hp with turbo upgrade. Modders really love this car.
    - Q car - very few people really notice it in traffic
    - Awesome grip in all conditions - I have driven it in icy roads in Lake Tahoe with no problems even with summer tires w/o chains
    - It is not a BMW
    - Very cool interior - looks like it belongs in a pricier car
    - lovely sensation when the turbo kicks in at 2000 rpms - this is a torquey little thing
    - S4 buyers largely tend to be enthusiasts and not people buy it for the status or looks --> its a nice group to be in

    Minuses:
    - It is not a BMW
    - More cramped than a 3 series in the rear seats- cannot have a six footer sit behind another for sure...
    - Suspension is a bit floaty when pushed hard
    - Car weighs 3650 Lbs due to the AWD hardware so it is bit weighty in the corners. Also is biased towards understeer
    - Not the worlds best shifter by any means
    - Highly modded cars could face the wrath of the turbo lady

    Thanks Sam,

I had read about the new V8s being a nice package. My first wife had a 5000S, and both of them were a lot of fun until I wore them out.

New gf has the Beetle Turbo S 6 spd, but might like the Audi someday.
