I am looking for reccomendations for a good performance driving school to send my wife to, preferably on the west coast. She has a need for speed. Since she was kind enough to suprise me with a 348 spider for my b/day, I'm thinking a performance drving school for her b/day would be nice.

Would really appreciate input and personal expierences.

Alfa romeo performance driving school has 3 levels HPDE, TT, and wheel to wheel race
AROSC.org the next school is in october I think at the streets of willow springs. There are others like at spring mountain, nevada in corvettes. Mustangs at miller motorsports park. I think skip barber is still doing open wheel cars at laguna seca. An easy way to find what is out there is to look at the calender of various race tracks where you want to be.

    Willow springs international raceway
    Button willow raceway
    autoclub speedway
    laguna seca
    thunderhill
    sonoma raceway

Those are the big ones north and south in cali.

You can see who is running and what that group is about hpde, schools, etc.

You can also go to motorsportreg.com and search by miles from a zipcode. Most bigger groups use MSR to handle trackday signups and you can specify "schools" and see what is available on the calender.

Would recommend a pro school. SimRaceWay, Barber, Russell at Sears Point. AMG is even more upscale.

is the AMG academy a legit racing school or just a glorified HPDE curriculum?

What kind of car would she want to drive?
Skip Barber at Laguna Seca would be a fun track and you can do the Miatas, open wheel, plus Porsches, Lexus and other Mazda cars. Not too far from you.

I just heard that at Laguna Seca, it was a decent curriculum and a lot of FUN! This from a fifteen year Skippy veteran, who in the same sentence, lamented the recent staff turnover at SBRS (as I do).
