    Hello,

My name is David and I opened this thread today (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=138556294) and was directed the the SoCal section (i think this is the correct section).

Are you familiar with this car.

If this is not the correct section, will you be so kind as to redirect me where I should be.

    Thank you for your time.

It belongs to a very close friend of mine. Just to clarify one issue that someone else mentioned. The car was repainted due to being sandblasted on a drive through Lake Mead National park in Vegas. There was absolutely no damage to the car other than the paint/windshield damage from the sand/small rocks. It was repainted by Premier Autobody up in Los Angeles who is (arguably) the best of the best when it comes to paint work. Any number of people will back up that claim. The owner is also one of the most meticulous (anal) guys around. The car is in excellent condition. If you're truly interested in a black on black 355 this one would be the one to buy.

I'd have to agree with everything Jeffrey said. This is a beautiful car. :)

I have been on those runs and you will encounter sand/small rock chips. The car looks and sounds great on the road. I agree with Jeffrey as well.

    Agreed - it's a good car.

BTW - the sandblasted front, I was in the passenger seat when it happened. And we were in very high triple digit speeds at the time to!

The funny thing about that run is that you hear the fine grains of sand going tic, tic, tic, but don't realize the damage until you get out. The 355 wasn't in as bad shape as that Noble. :D

Wow. Thank you for the references. I'm taken by this particular F355. Having so much work done is a downfall, for me personally. This car looks pristine and Edward seems to be a true enthusiast. I can tell it's been cared for and references above ^ settle my nerves. The miles are high but they are perfect for me (Post-30K service LOL!!! :D ).

My partner and I am pursuing this one. He's had 2 Ferraris and I've enjoyed them but I haven't actually had one in my name, under my 100% complete care. I'm sure you know the feeling! I'm having to wait through the weekend to make sure I don't have a Ferrari fever. ;)

Again, thanks and I hope to enter into the Ferrari community with this F355 very soon.

    Enjoy your day SoCa

p.s. I drive a Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa about 4k miles a year. Do you have an opinion on how F355 reacts to a somewhat daily drive?

Speaking from experience - 355s are excellent cars. I don't think there would be a problem using it as a daily driver.

I wouldn't worry about at all - they all need a front-end respray at some point. (Or an engine reseal from sitting around from lack of use...)

And black can be resprayed very nicely.

As I said in the other thread, the owner is borderline OCD. He's a good friend of mine and I poke fun at him about it. The beers in his fridge or all lined up and grouped together with the precision of marching soldiers on parade in a communist country. He wipes his car down after every drive.

I was on the run where the road rash occurred....the Seller's representation is accurate.

Several cars needed a complete respray as a result of the run. I had to get a front bumper respray on the old 360 Spider...things happen at 160+ MPH.
