    Hi all,

Recently I installed the Garmin BC30 wireless camera on my 430, it comes with a wireless transmitter that connect to the backup camera and car charger that connects to the nuvi's screen. I select the nuvi255 portable GPS and it works perfectly with backup camera system. The installation is easy and just wired the camera directly to the reverse lights so the nuvi can AUTOMATICALLY brings up the camera view when you put the car on reverse. The good thing is that the system response very quickly even it use the wireless technology. In addition, the guidance line can be adjusted easily on the screen.

Now I'm more confident to reverse the car in the crowded city and will not destroy the rear diffuser fins. ( The higher bar for stopping the car in many parking lots always make me nervous when I park the car )

    That's very interesting. :)
I'd like to do the same on my 360.

Where did you wired the camera directly to the reverse light?
There is a special connector for all bulbs and I don't see where to have a simple access to the reverse light wires.

I just purchased and installed the Pearl Auto Rear Vision (just released to the market by a bunch of former Apple guys)--haven't used it much yet and it is kind of pricey, but I cracked my rear bumper pretty badly a year ago and many $$$ to fix. This is simply a rear license plate frame with cameras that is wireless to your iPhone through a plug-in to your OBD port ( sort of like the Valentine Savvy for its radar detector hookup)--no wiring whatsoever and you can take it with you when you sell the car. Includes a holder for your iPhone that you can clip to one of the front vents on the dash of the 430. Pricey but a slick package overall.

Just pick up the wire using a Lucar connector, it is just crimpted to the original wire ( called a splice wire connector)

    Thanks for the advice.
However my concern is to identify and to have access to the original wire. ;)
That's why I would be happy to know where Mikesun001 did the connection.

Just remove the reversing light, then remove the plug and find the 12 volt positive wire to connect to

I have a Garmin unit capable of receiving the BC30 feed and have considered this. The wiring should be straightforward through the use of a vampire tap. How much of the car did you have to take apart to do the install? Is it a rear bumper off job? Where did you attach the units as it does get very hot in the engine bay.

I did a cheap wireless one that connects to my iPhone via wifi. Works fine.

I didn't remove the rear bumper to install the system. I attached the transmitter under the left side panel in the engine bay, all the wire is protected by the heat insulation pipes.

Found this thread searching for back up camera install. Can someone take a picture of specifically where you hook up the camera power source to the rear tail light? Newbie here. Thanks!

Probably easier to use the rear right reversing light as easier to get the panel off to get to the reversing light, pull the plug off the light fitting and find the power with a multi meter in the plug
Look on page 3 of the 430 page, about front and rear camera fitting, lots of usefull pics

I have one that mounts onto my rear bumper, and then it replaces my Rear View Mirror, turns on when I go into Reverse. Been an absolute life saver, haha.

I just bought the Pearl Rear vision back up camera too. It received some great reviews. Will install this week and I’ll let you know. Check it out on YouTube. It’s 100% wireless and that’s what attracted me to you. Camera is in license plate frame which is solar powered.

Any feedback on how you like the Pearl Auto Rear Vision camera? How does it look? I checked out their website and was wondering how the rearview camera/license plate frame looked once installed...thoughts?
