Until about 2015, I had the Escort 9500ci with the laser shifters in every car. When I would sell a car, I would always have an installer move it to the next car, at least until a newer model came out. It saved my arse dozens of times

Now considering adding to one or two of my cars I have a tendency to drive more, and I don't see much info online about people still using them and it seems installers in south Florida aren't very prevalent

I'm curious to know why people seemed to have stopped using them as much, especially in higher end cars. Is it the install process and someone potentially voiding a warranty? Any feedback is appreciated

After I got nailed on I-75 years ago by laser, I went out and bought a combo jammer/radar detector (Escort 360) for the 458. I now have two other exotics, but also now have track cars, which is where I do my real driving.

The street cars (STO and F8 spider) aren’t driven that aggressively as there aren’t great roads in FL for the type of driving I like.

I’m not sure for resale whether buyers consider it an asset, or view it as a mod otherwise done to a pristine car,

I’ve actually never installed any on any of my cars, except for a little while, I had a passport auctioned cupped to the windshield and plugged into socket— I decided I didn’t like that cosmetically, took it down and never used another… BUT, I’ve always thought of and thought I wanted that one that gets hard wire installed and they build the indicators into the rear view mirror- K40. Just always hesitant due to altering the mirror, worries about messing with electronics in Ferrari and warranty type things, concerns about install with removing interior parts and exterior bumpers etc and also the cost… but I still think one day I want it.

I have been moving my escort from car to car as needed. I dont use it daily, I only use it on longer trips.
