    Hello everyone.

I just want to share this small tutorial for anyone wanting to upgrade their Becker Ferrari head unit. It's a relative simple install, even though i am not a mechanic or the like.

    1. First of all you will need the shown tools to pull out your genuine ferrari unit.
    2. Then also pull the frame out, if it doesn't come out with the unit - mine did, as shown in the picture.
    3. Unplug all the four plugs - as shown in the picture of the back of the Becker unit.

Before we continue i want to share on one detail i learned. When i just connected the iso plugs into the Blaupunkt unit, they did fit and the unit came alive. But it was stuck in "Telephone" mode, which is caused by the Ferrari sending a signal into the unit causing it to be in "radio mute during telephone".

    4. I've shown the two schematics of the Becker and Blaupunkt units.

    5. As can be seen from the schematics, the pin 2 in iso plug A on the Blaupunkt is receiving a signal, causing "Radio Mute" mode. This pin needs to be extracted, or alternative the wire cut/isolated with tape.

-> That made the unit work for me.

    6. Mount the frame provided with the Blaupunkt Frankfurt into the Din-1 hole of the Ferrari. You can fix it by bending the aluminum pins, so it stays in place.

    7. Plug in the iso plug A and B into the Blaupunkt unit. And push it into the din-1 slot.

    And we're done.

At the moment i'm using the cars original speakers, and will look into upgrading them in the future. There are 2 front and 2 rear speakers.

The unit can play bluetooth music from my phone and also make phone calls. I am using the microphone which is in the front of the Blaupunkt unit. They also provided an external microphone, which can be mounted, but i will see if that is necessary. I would like to avoid pulling the microphone cable through interior parts.

IMO the unit looks great with the interior. I will adjust the color with the interior and post a picture of how it looks.

    Thanks for the read.
