Ok fellows, I know I'm going to take a bunch of "stick" for putting this thing on my Mondial t Coupe, but I'm going to Savannah this week and I need to install this thing bacause I'm tired of my right shin cramping up on drives longer than a couple hours.

I bought a Rostra electrically actuated servo system with a control panel I have put in my ash tray and I have no problems installing all of that. I can install a magnetic pickup sensor on the rear outer CV joint to generate a speed sensor signal if I have to, but I'd rather the solution be more elegant.

I'm looking for information on how to identify the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire, I assume from the speedo sender to the cluster. The Rostra documentation states the pulse can be either a square wave or a sine wave.

If anyone has worked through this or has any ideas in short order, pipe up!

    Thanks, Peter

Briefly, the speed sensor (on a 348) is on the transmission case next to the left inner CV joint. It has two wires, with a plug next to the sensor. The wires run through a multi-pin quick disconnect fitting near the top of the left rear shock. I'm not sure if the Mondial T is exactly the same.

I have never used the cruise control function on any of my cars, but I know that some people find them useful and convenient, so no "stick" from me.

Thanks, Jeff. I was just wondering which of the two wires at the pickup was the VSS wire. It is the same for the Mondial t as for the 348 (and I assume the 355).

Jeff did a write-up on that some time ago that seems to point to the VSS as your red/white wire from what I can tell: http://www.the348.com/tech/348.html#Speedometer
