Okay, so like many of you, I had to take the pumpkin off (I upgraded to the Hill flange/TO bearing after a small leak). First off, I would like to say a big THANK YOU!! to the brotherhood. The threads on here, and the wealth of knowledge made it easy, along with all the help from Daniel at Ricambi. This forum really rocks!!!

Back to the point of this thread. So I went through the typical cursing, throwing things, etc. of trying to get that damn pumpkin back on. By far, the quickest way I got it on was the technique of getting it started on the prop shaft, which I found to be not that difficult with spinning, and adjusting, till it went. By this I mean, that it will go only so far as just sliding into the top stud holes. From here no matter what you do, it won't go further until you line up the outer shaft teeth. I did this by pulling the pumpkin off, depressing the throw out bearing to the stops, putting pumpkin back on to the stud, then using a long straight slot screwdriver to turn the teeth on the outside prop shaft ring while wiggling the pumpkin, and within a few seconds, it slid right on, easily. Took me 10 minutes once figuring this out. Hope this helps!

well, why not put the car with the wheels on the ground, put in 6th gear and push against the pumkin while the car rolls forward.

never took me more than 20 seconds to get the flywheel/pumpkin back on.

or have somebody turning one wheel with gear in 6th if car is up in the air.

I recently installed a Hill thrust bearing and flange. The pumpkin was a hell of a good time but went on easily after perfecting the disc alignment.

The clutch bleed? 10 minutes max and the easiest of any car that I've ever done.
