    hi all,

I started my 458 one day this week and the right hand screen (the one with navigation, radio, speed etc) didn't come up. First I thought it's some kind of a glitch, tried resetting the system by removing negative terminal from the battery (the car is on trickle charger), but the screen is not coming up anymore so I think it's time to find a shop to look at it.

Does anyone know of any good shops specializing in 458 clusters? Preferably with personal experience

Dealer wanted $15k to fix mine. I ended up just using right tft for digital speedometer. Lots of threads here about this issue. Very common.

It's when the infotainment (nav/radio/media player) doesn't sync up with the dash at power on. It happened more and more often in my car until I replaced the 3~4 year old battery. Now it's been a few months since I saw it happen. So probably a weak battery plus aging capacitors in a power supply somewhere. I bet if I could find and open the infotainment unit I'd see some bulging capacitors but just getting to it would take more time than I care to spend on it.

battery is less than a year old and always kept on trickle charger, so it's not that.

Just do a search on 458 tft. Almost like sticky buttons. A known problem

I did some testing on the weekend. Pulled the cluster out, turns out each screen is connected to a board (like a mini PC) that is then connected to the main cluster board

I swapped the screens between the boards, the screens are fine but the right hand side mini-PC board is faulty

Don't think it would be possible to repair it, so I need to source a second hand board from somewhere as Ferrari only sells complete clusters

Trick part is to find one available. Worst case is I'd have to purchase a complete second hand cluster and part it out

Might call FAI in Costa Mesa CA and see if they can rebuild it. I’ve had mine rebuilt by them. Much cheaper than new.
