While taking the mondial apart I'm finding more corrosion than I'd like in the trunk area due to the insulation acting like a sponge. What would you recomend to use instead of replacing with orig. type. open to ideas. Thanks, Denis

Denis, go easy with that insulation i think it maybe asbestos. Wet the well out of it before removing it, and don't forget your mask.

Aircraft Spruce has various insulation materials, and many are fire retardant, lots of insulation choices in their catalogue, and they are variously for noise and heat abatement in small aircraft, both noise and heat which you want to deal with in the Mondial trunk. Also, Pelican Parts has engine hood soundproofing pads for the Porche 944, which are also fire retardant, and look like the OEM insulation found in and around the Mondial engine compartment.
