I am taking a car to Italy for approx 30 days. The biggest problem I have is finding an Italian company that will insurance a foreigner. Liability or 3rd party insurance is ok, fully comprehensive would be great. I have a no claim, no accident, no tickets (lucky I guess), history so that side of things should be ok.
Another factor is that not living in Europe I can not get a green card from an EU companion country.
    Any ideas !!!
    Thanks......Warren

On the other side of the world.....NZ.
Makes it rather difficult from here but the details are still the same regardless.

Last year I took my car to Sicilia. My regular insurance covers the car in the same manner as anywhere else, no special coverage required because it is driven in another country-BUT, only if you purchase the EU required "green card" third party liability insurance, which I got through Haggerty.

    Thanks Malcolmb,
I will try Haggerty. Here the insurance companys I have found, write the policys under NZ law. Therefore they are limited to this country.
